Thompson-Nicola Bahá'í School
9 – 13 August
The theme of this year's school is "Contributing to the Betterment of Society", inspired by the magazine, "The Bahá'ís", published in support of the bicentenary by the Bahá'í International Community.
You spoke! We listened!
We are excited to announce a new venue for the Thompson-Nicola Bahá’í Summer School! In response to facility feedback over the years, we've now booked a new spot for the school. The Dutch Lake Community Centre at 209 Dutch Lake Road in Clearwater, BC. is an air-conditioned renovated school facility with a large multi-purpose room; large classrooms for all our programs—adult, youth, children and junior youth; a gymnasium; kitchen facilities; a large field outside with a small playground on the premises for children. It is within walking distance to the public beach area and there are hiking trails nearby. Weekdays we do share the building with a few regular working staff members, and there is a local public music event in the field Thursday night that we're welcome to enjoy.
However, one change also means you'll need to act now! There is no onsite camping available at the new venue, so you are strongly encouraged to BOOK YOUR ACCOMMODATION NOW!!! Reserve a place at one of several campgrounds, hotels/motels or B&B's in the nearby area - most within 5-10 minutes of venue. Clearwater is a very popular tourist destination in August - so to get your spot you have to book right away! Due to many online booking policies, we can only briefly block some camping spots at the Dutch Lake Resort & RV Park - info and links included below for your convenience.
We strive to keep costs down so the school is accessible to all and can remain as 'registration by donation’ so we strongly urge you to pre-register yourself, family and friends on this website (soon) and letting us know details of who's planning to come so we can accurately budget and plan meals and programming accordingly. TN School dates are Thursday evening August 9th for set-up/registration, meet& greet and local music in the park through to Monday afternoon August 13th. Formal program begins Friday morning at 9 a.m. sharp.
