British Columbia Bahá'í Schools

The Regional Schools Coordinating Committee (RSCC)

The National Spiritual Assembly of the Bahá'ís of Canada has devolved responsibility for regional schools to the individual Regional Bahá'í Councils, and they, in turn, have developed 'arms' of their administration to help them fulfill this mandate. The Regional Schools Coordinating Committee (RSCC) in British Columbia is one such arm, and has been created to facilitate the very necessary process of change and advancement to which all seasonal schools are being called.

The Department of the Secretariat for the National Spiritual Assembly has instructed that, "The provision of educational opportunities of a uniquely Bahá'í nature is a vital service in the development of the community of Baha'u'llah." To facilitate this, the Regional Schools Coordinating Committee has been mandated by the Bahá'í Council to look in the smaller geographic areas to see what learning events will assist each of these clusters to advance in a systematic manner.

Our focus is to develop ongoing, long-range plans that will assist in the destined transformation that all schools must needs go through to become the "Centres of Bahá'í Learning" envisioned by the beloved Guardian, and to do so in accordance with the guidance of the Universal House of Justice at this critical juncture in human history.

Our tasks are of an executive nature. They primarily involve the recruitment of skilled coordinating personnel to implement the plans generated as a result of effective consultation with the friends and institutions throughout the region. We also support the work of, and collaborate with, the various schools committees operating under the jurisdiction of Local Spiritual Assemblies.
