The Regional Schools Coordinating Committee guides the development of Bahá’í schools in BC. The Department of the Secretariat for the National Spiritual Assembly of the Bahá’ís of Canada has stated that: “The provision of educational opportunities of a uniquely Bahá’í nature is a vital service in the development of the community of Bahá’u’lláh.” To facilitate this, the Regional Schools Coordinating Committee was appointed and mandated by the Bahá’í Council of British Columbia to determine and implement learning events that will assist local areas to advance and grow in a systematic manner.
One of our goals is to develop ongoing, long-range plans that aid in the development of “Centres of Bahá’í Learning” envisioned by the beloved Guardian, Shoghi Effendi.
One of our tasks involves the recruitment of skilled coordinating personnel (school coordinating teams) to implement the plans generated as a result of investigation and consultation with Bahá’í communities and institutions throughout the region. We also support the work of and collaborate with school committees operating under the jurisdiction of Local Spiritual Assemblies. We encourage you to look over the school offerings and make plans to attend a school so that we can further our learning and grow together.
