Date: Sunday, July 11, 2021
Time: 10:05 – 11:50 am – Concurrent Session
Presenters: Kim Sutherland and Cheryl Vinchoff
This 90 min workshop will look at two examples of injustice that are becoming more evident as humanity faces the reality of climate change and struggles to move forward to a solution. Participants will be provided with a 10 min introduction to each case and then will break into small groups and using Baha’i writings will explore both spiritual and material pathways that are more just and equitable. Topic areas will include: 1) How climate change is unequal in its impact: through a case study. 2) Challenges with transitioning to renewable resources; how can this be done equitably, who might be left behind? We hope that participants will better understand social justice in the framework of climate change and be inspired to find their course of action.
