This dynamic class is planned around the Summer School’s theme of ʻAbdu’l-Bahá: The
Gift of the Covenant, for children ages 5-10. Each day there will be a story about the
Master and a quote from the Baháʼí Writings. Additional activities include a daily prayer,
an art lesson on learning to drawing pictures related to the Covenant, a movement
break, learning a song, and short videos connected to the theme of the day. Included
are opportunities for the children to interact with their teachers. Our goal is to help the
children develop a deep love for ʻAbdu’l-Bahá and a desire to follow in His footsteps.
We are grateful for the participation of children, youth, and their families from all over BC in helping to create the videos for the lessons.
Day 1 – Theme: ʻAbdu’l-Bahá is the Perfect Example. The first day is focused on the Covenant as a fortified fortress.
Day 2 – Theme: Abdu’l-Bahá is a shelter for all mankind. Today, the children will focus on ʻAbdu’l-Bahá’s love for His Father.
Day 3 – Theme: ʻAbdu’l-Bahá as the Ark of Salvation. The children will focus on ʻAbdu’l-Bahá’s love for all children.
Day 4 – Theme: ʻAbdu’l-Bahá’s example of firmness in the Covenant. The children will learn how the Covenant is like the sea and the believers are like the fish in this sea.
Day 5 – Theme: Service. ʻAbdu’l-Bahá spent His life being of service to humanity. The story today is Servant of the Poor. This final class will include a video of children from all over BC being of service.
