Virtual School 2020

Devotional Programs

Dates: Daily for entire school

Times: 8:40 to 9:00 am;
1:00 to 1:10 pm (start of Adult Program);
7:15 to 7:25 pm (start of Arts Program)

Devotional programs are planned for each day and will occur at the beginning of the school day, after a lunch break to begin the afternoon adult program, and again after dinner to begin the evening arts program. Only the morning devotions require that you log into a Zoom space for devotions, a separate link. The afternoon and evening devotions are part of the afternoon and evening programs. Each day devotions will be centred round a virtues theme.

Themes:
Friday: Sacrifice
Saturday: Service
Sunday: Love
Monday: Joy
Tuesday: Humility
Wednesday: Sacrifice

July 24 – Sacrifice

Sacrifice: “The essence of all exhortation is that thou shouldst abandon thyself and sacrifice life, body and heart for the Beloved One of the world” – ʻAbdu’l-Bahá. Join us with devotional contributions from regional Baháʼís as we celebrate the virtue of sacrifice.

July 25 – Service

The Virtue of Service is the greatest attribute of the Servant of Bahá. Join us as today’s devotions try to set the tone of service.

July 26 – Joy

Virtue of Joy
“Gather ye together with the utmost joy and fellowship and recite the verses
revealed by the merciful Lord.” Join us as today’s devotions try to set the tone of joy.

July 27 – Love

‘.. Love is the secret of God’s holy Dispensation, ..Love is heaven’s kindly light, the Holy Spirit’s eternal breath that vivifieth the human soul.’ Join us for devotional contributions from regional Baháʼís as we celebrate the virtue of love.

July 28 – Humility

Humility:  “Humility exalteth man to the heaven of glory and power, whilst pride abaseth him to the depth of wretchedness and degradation” – Baha’u’llah.  Join us for devotional contributions from regional Baha’is as we celebrate the virtue of humility.

July 29 – Sacrifice

Sacrifice: “…to make a sacrifice is to receive a gift, and whatsoever may come to pass hath issued from God’s grace.” – ʻAbdu’l-Bahá.  Join us for devotional contributions from regional Baha’is as we celebrate the virtue of sacrifice.
