Are you trying to learn about inviting friends to join you in learning how to construct a new civilization?
In this workshop, we will work together to creatively visualize and plan some avenues to invitation as we explore a day in ʻAbdu’l-Bahá’s neighbourhood.
You will need: A large sheet of paper (like poster board) some small sheets, scissors, a pencil, watercolours or other colouring media.
About the Presenter: Anisa Skuce-Newell; Visual Arts Instructor/community builder. Anisa is passionate about young people and sees in them the greatest treasure of our communities. She strives to mine the gems of their hearts and to encourage all those she works with to develop their capacities to contribute to the betterment of the world. The arts are a means of engaging both the heart and the mind, they cross all borders and languages. In short, the arts can unite!
With an MFA from Edinburgh University of Art in 1999, Anisa set out to attempt to express through visual means the intangible, a trace of the Traceless and continues to seek out that Ideal in all relationships whether with materials or people. She strives to connect this truth-seeking quality to community-building efforts in her neighbourhood and collaborates every day with neighbours and institutions to bring beauty into the world through the lens of the oneness of humankind. She lives with her husband Andrew and their daughter in Victoria, BC.
